Adventure Awaits

To an Experience of a Lifetime

Travel With a Purpose

Combining volunteering and sightseeing, Voluntourism is a new form of travel that allows you, the Voluntourist, to contribute to sustainable development while exploring new places and cultures. Most adventure seekers find that doing volunteer work while on vacation is the best way to experience the best of both worlds.

Visiting the AKF Rescue Center makes it possible for Voluntourists to do worthwhile activities with our shelter dogs and other visiting volunteers.

If you intend to stay the whole weekend or longer, you will be able to explore nearby tourist and adventure sites as well. We have a guesthouse that can accommodate a small group of people. If you love the outdoors, our sanctuary has designated campsites where you can pitch your tent, light a campfire while you roast marshmallows and relax under the stars. The amount that you spend for your accommodation goes directly to the upkeep of our shelter dogs

What our #Voluntourists say

Wonderful!

It’s a big, nice house, complete with almost everything you need. Comfortable living area. Convenient kitchen. Snacks, coffee, cable tv available! I love the veranda where you get the perfect view while we had our coffee and that cassava cake we bought I enjoyed taking a tour on the farm, surrounded myself the dogs and mostly, very accommodating AKF staff! Will surely come back soon and stay longer. ❤

Krys

Much more than what you would expect!

Very homey, warm and peaceful. Very nice way to get away from city and spend time with all the dogs.

Mitzi

Lovely place with an amazing cause 🙂

This is the first time i have ever tried being a voluntourist and I just wished I had more time to spend getting to know the dogs, cats , and the staff in the compound.
